Junior Scientist / Research Assistant
Location: San Antonio, TX 78240
Job Type: Full-Time 3-month Contract
Salary: $28-30.00/hr

Overview:
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Scientist to assist in cutting-edge research projects. This contract position is ideal for individuals who possess strong scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, and a passion for advancing scientific discovery. The Junior Scientist will support experimental research, data collection and analysis, and documentation of findings according to established protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Research Support: Participate in and lead research projects, assisting with experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Conducting Experiments: Perform experiments under the guidance of a remote PhD supervisor, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Accurately collect, record, and analyze experimental data using appropriate software and tools.
  • Sample Preparation: Prepare tissue samples for experiments and analysis, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations to ensure data integrity.
  • Report Writing: Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing research findings for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure smooth execution of research projects and timely achievement of milestones.
  • Adherence to Protocols: Follow all organizational safety guidelines and established research protocols.
  • Meeting Deadlines: Ensure efficient progress to meet project deadlines and work within project budgets.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Cleanroom experience is required
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and equipment operation, including tissue handling and processing.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a research setting.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve problems during the research process.
     
Additional Information:
  • Experience Required: Tissue handling/processing experience are highly preferred.
