Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lab Analyst II near St. Charles, MO.

Contract to Hire
Shift:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Compensation: $25-$34/hr DOE


General Summary The Laboratory Analyst II is responsible for performing diagnostic testing on customer samples, assuring consistent quality through raw material qualification, process optimization, standardized procedures, and in-process performance verification. Occasionally, this role may support the Associate Staff Scientist with method and instrument qualifications. Key Responsibilities Method Development
  • Assist the Associate Staff Scientist with method and instrument qualifications as needed.
Diagnostic Testing
  • Conduct testing of customer samples in accordance with laboratory quality management system SOPs.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standardized work processes.
  • Accurately manage material usage and maintain inventory.
  • Prepare controls and standards for in-process testing.
  • Perform meticulous and timely completion of all quality system documentation.
  • Prepare buffers, critical reagents, and kit components.
  • Process, report, and analyze quantitative data.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and equipment issues.
General Laboratory Operations
  • Operate and perform basic maintenance on automated and semi-automated laboratory equipment.
  • Utilize common laboratory equipment, including balances, pipettes, and centrifuges.
  • Ensure traceability of laboratory work through documentation in compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Uphold and improve the Quality Management System, including refining SOP drafts and revisions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Analysts I.
  • Work under moderate supervision, with the ability to solve medium complexity problems independently.
  • Follow established safety practices and safety policies and procedures; report unsafe or hazardous conditions to the Laboratory Manager or Environmental, Health, and Safety department.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory preferred.
  • Prior experience with biochemical testing methods, including qPCR and LC-MS preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Competence with computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation of technical data cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and providing analysis and solutions for technical issues.
  • Capable of performing under pressure to meet customer requirements and project deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain documentation and work areas.
  • Proficiency in necessary calculations and complex task sequences required for testing.
  • Exceptional pipetting skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 2–4 years of laboratory experience, with a focus on customer testing.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both laboratory and office environments.
  • Ability to utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required.
