Position Overview

The Company is seeking a Laboratory Associate to support sample preparation workflows for mass spectrometry-based experiments. This role is critical for ensuring high-quality sample preparation and analysis. You will collaborate with Operations and R&D teams to support client-driven projects and develop new experimental methods.

Job Details
  • Location: St. Louis, MO (100% on site)

  • Job type: ~6 month contract, potential to extend or go permanent but this is not guaranteed

  • Pay rate: $30–37/hour, depending on directly relevant mass spec sample prep experience

  • Mass spec sample prep experience is preferred, but we are also targeting candidates with experience related to: drug discovery, proteomics, toxicology, molecular biology

  • This role is part of a research laboratory and requires a strong fundamental understanding of rigorous scientific practices

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare biological samples (e.g., tissues, plasma) for mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics

  • Operate and optimize proteomics and metabolomics sample preparation workflows

  • Review and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as new workflows are introduced

  • Support mass spectrometer operations, including making buffers and stock solutions

  • Maintain analytical equipment and perform routine lab maintenance

  • Ensure efficient timing and scheduling of sample preparation tasks to meet project deadlines

  • Attend scientific meetings and training to stay updated on industry trends

  • Work within both the R&D and operations teams

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field

  • We are not seeking PhD level candidates at this time

  • 2+ years of experience in molecular biology or bioanalytical sample preparation

  • Experience in proteomics and metabolomics experience is highly preferred

  • Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry sample preparation for proteomics and metabolomics

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and record-keeping skills
