Lab Technician
Location: Alvin, TX 
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
Work Schedule: M-F; 8am-5pm

Global AgTech company is seeking multiple Lab Technicians to join the team in Alvin, TX. This role is crucial for supporting our grain quality analysis and laboratory operations, contributing to the development and evaluation of high-performance rice seeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing precise laboratory procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data, all while adhering to established protocols and GMP guidelines. This position requires a strong ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform milling, grinding, weighing, and precise preparation of samples for various grain quality tests.
  • Prepare chemical buffers and aliquots meticulously, strictly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor quality assurance parameters for all processes and products, taking immediate corrective action when deviations occur or are required.
  • Operate and maintain liquid handlers and a variety of automated laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory processes and instrumentation, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot technical problems and implement solutions.
  • Accurately document sample flow and maintain detailed records. Troubleshoot processes as necessary to resolve issues and optimize workflows.
  • Execute structured and repetitive laboratory tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Adhere to all established laboratory practices, safety protocols, and company policies with precision and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall laboratory operations and company objectives.
  • On-site work is required for this position.
Education and Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Plant Science, Agricultural Science), OR an Associate's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems effectively utilizing a variety of tools, including inquiries, observations, system schematics, detailed documentation, software tools, and communications/electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry, analysis, and communication.

  • Proven ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately and consistently.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, particularly in a laboratory setting.
