Job Description:
Our client, a leading energy company, is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support key testing operations at their Tacoma, WA refinery. This temp-hire position is ideal for individuals with laboratory experience who are eager to apply their skills in a high-impact, fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct analysis of process samples and finished petroleum product tanks.

Operate specialized lab instruments including:

Automated distillation units
-
Viscometers
-
Flash point testers
-
Cloud/pour point testers
-
Densometers
-
Vapor pressure and ammonia analyzers
Complete qualifications across lab subdivisions such as Gas Streams, Gas Bench, and Jet.
Maintain a strong safety presence in accordance with refinery protocols.
Participate in lab safety training and meetings.
Work rotating 8- or 10-hour shifts (including weekends and holidays); graveyard shift required upon full qualification.
Support environmental responsibility and renewable fuels initiatives.
Qualifications:

At least 2 years of vocational, technical, or college-level science training preferred.

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
