Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Location: Bristol, CT
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Machine Operator to join our 1st shift production team in Bristol, CT. As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in operating, setting up, and maintaining machinery used in the production of decoupling elements. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and adjust mechanical and computer-controlled production machinery.

  • Feed raw materials or components into semi-automated machines.

  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, tensile and pressure test devices).

  • Adjust machine settings (speed, tooling, etc.) to maintain consistent product quality.

  • Monitor machine operations and check finished products for defects.

  • Maintain accurate production logs and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues independently.

  • Assist with routine machine maintenance and participate in preventative maintenance alongside the Maintenance Manager.

  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with team members and adapt to cross-functional production needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience with measuring tools and inspection equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and production documentation.

  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Familiarity with computer-interfaced machinery and basic computer literacy.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
