CNC Machine Technician - Rochester, NY (Temp-to-Hire) We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machine Technician for a temp-to-hire position in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load programs into the controller based on given instructions.
- Review programs for accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform intermediate machine tool setups through first piece inspection approval.
- Manufacture complex parts while maintaining product quality throughout production runs using precision measuring instruments (calipers, dial bore gauges, micrometers, etc.).
- Work with tight tolerances in accordance with control plans and blueprints.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of proper machine operation and safety procedures.
- Manufacture product with tight tolerances in accordance with CAD models and blueprints.
- Potentially work with prototypes for future projects.
- Develop and machine basic fixtures with or without prints.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Change tools and adjust offsets as needed.
- Accountable for machine maintenance.
- May be required to edit programs at the machine.
- May be requested to instruct other personnel on machine operation.
- May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Knowledgeable in setups, lathes, and mills.
- Understanding of GD&T and shop math.
- Ability to read and understand CAD/CAM software.
- Familiar with G and M codes.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be a good team player.
