What's a typical day as a Maintenance Tech/Engineering Tech:
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Tech/Engineering Tech is to ensure that all site facilities, utilities, and equipment are operational, calibrated, and properly maintained. This involves organizing and executing maintenance activities to meet production and development needs while adhering to regulatory requirements. The technician will track documentation, ensure compliance, and respond to repair needs in a timely manner to keep operations running smoothly.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Maintenance Activities: Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance tasks to ensure equipment performance, adhering to policies and schedules.
Equipment and Instrumentation Maintenance: Ensure GMP equipment is operational and calibrated, conducting regular inspections.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain and organize records for maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Manage vendor relationships for necessary parts and materials and oversee external service providers.
System Monitoring and Maintenance: Support and manage continuous monitoring systems, including sensor replacements and equipment qualification.
Periodic Inspections and Reporting: Conduct periodic facility and system inspections, contributing to review and reporting activities.
Cost-Saving Recommendations: Provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities related to maintenance and operational activities.
Project Support: Manage and execute individual or team projects, supporting activities across various departments as needed.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
Minimum: High School Diploma.
Preferred: Associate degree or technical certification. An advanced degree may substitute experience.
Licensure in trades such as electrician or plumber is a plus.
5+ years of experience in a regulated cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) environment, ideally in a life science company.
3+ years in organizing, maintaining, and documenting maintenance programs.
3+ years of experience with equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial equipment and systems.
Must Haves:
Industrial Maintenance Experience: Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial equipment and systems.
Understanding of Pumps, MEP: Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, including pumps.
Trade Experience: Preferred experience in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing; HVAC experience is a plus.
Regulated Industry Experience: Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., food, pharma, life sciences).
Licensure: Licenses such as an electrician or plumber are a plus.
Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Systems: Proven experience maintaining and diagnosing industrial and lab equipment (e.g., seals, pumps, valves, fittings).
Documentation and Compliance: Ability to organize and document maintenance activities, especially in a cGMP environment.
Vendor Coordination: Experience managing vendors for services like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
