Job Description: Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Pacific, MO
Pay Rate: 31/hr (flexible based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30-3:30
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team in Pacific, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, in a manufacturing environment. This role demands a multifaceted professional who can ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency across multiple crafts. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manufacturing and be able to contribute to a team-oriented workplace focused on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Execute regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to maintain optimal equipment operations and reduce downtime.
- Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, working with various equipment such as fillers, cappers, checkweighers, pumps, robots, and case packers to ensure performance and reliability.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, including OSHA and company-specific safety regulations, to maintain a safe workplace environment. Perform tasks in compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Effectively collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to support operational requirements, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Continuous Improvement & Upgrades: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, participate in equipment upgrades, and engage in maintenance optimization strategies to enhance overall safety and efficiency.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Preference for candidates with technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems is essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Experience with various maintenance software is advantageous.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Professional Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, analytical abilities, and strong communication skills. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. independently and 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments exposed to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Not a climate-controlled facility.
- Capable of standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with robotics or automated machinery, certification in electrical maintenance (such as Journeyman Electrician or OSHA certification), and proficiency in predictive maintenance technologies like vibration analysis or infrared thermography. Certified Reliability Technician credential highly desired.
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week, with occasional opportunities for overtime.
