Job Title: Repair Technician II
Location: Motorola Solutions Inc., 415 E. Exchange Parkway, Allen, TX 75002
Contract Duration: 60 days with potential extension up to 2 years based on performance and budget
Pay Rate: $25/hr (Depending on qualifications and skill set)
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Onsite Only
Position Overview:
Motorola Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled Repair Technician II to join our North America repair and refurbished manufacturing center specializing in Digital Video Recorder (DVR) systems and peripherals. The Repair Technician II will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting, physical repairs, and component-level work to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform component-level repairs on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and subassemblies.
- Replace and rework components using advanced soldering (SMD, BGA, micro-soldering).
- Interpret schematics, engineering documents, and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Service teams to ensure quality and timely repairs.
- Document repair actions and recommend component replacements.
- Use SAP system for defect tracking and resolution.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in electronic component-level repair.
- Expertise in digital electronics (microcontrollers, memory, FPGAs, low-power signals).
- Proficient in soldering and rework in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Familiarity with ESD practices and safe handling.
- IPC Certification (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-7711/7721) is required prior to start (Motorola does not cover certification costs).
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher in a related technical field preferred.
Additional Details:
- This is a sitting role with occasional lifting required (10–50 lbs).
- Interview will include a live soldering test; candidates should wear manufacture/warehouse-appropriate attire. ESD soldering gear will be provided.

- No remote or virtual work options; onsite only.
