Job Description: Material Handler Company Overview

This company is one of the fastest-growing companies specializing in sustainable printing solutions. We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity for

Shift:1st shift, Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2 PM.
Location: Maryland Heights, MO 63146


Job Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Read shipping orders to identify items for gathering, staging, and assembly. Convey materials from the receiving area to production or storage.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Sort and organize items on storage racks, marking them with identifying information.
    • Manage the phase-in and phase-out of materials to minimize the risk of obsolete stock.
    • Maintain cycle counts and reconcile results to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Participate in the annual physical inventory count team as assigned.
  • Operations:
    • Operate various machinery including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies for conveying items.
    • Safely load and unload trucks after successful completion of forklift training and test.
    • Process inbound and outbound shipments, maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received, and prepare shipping documents.
  • Coordination:
    • Collaborate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods, confirm physical shipment and facilitate package tracking.
    • Assist in evaluating needs with shipping points, services, weights, freight permits, and other information requirements.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Assist with filing and data entry while maintaining cleanliness of dock and receiving area.
    • Train other team members as assigned and comply with established safety procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on quality, cycle times, safety, cost reductions, and customer satisfaction. Work collaboratively with other departments on projects and validations.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license necessary.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds continuously and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand and be mobile for most of the shift.
  • Efficient use of computers and effective telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach frequently.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent work habits focused on quality.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Must have transportation
