Job Title: Material Handler
Location: San Jose, CA
Rate: $21/hr.
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
Shift: Monday - Friday (Overtime as needed)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the handling and processing of batteries within our warehouse environment. You will work alongside an efficient team, focusing on safety and quality, to ensure that batteries are properly recycled and managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Battery Handling: Safely handle batteries of varying weights, using team lifting for items over 50 pounds.
  • Warehouse Environment: Operate within a warehouse that may be dusty and loud; adhere to safety protocols.
  • Processing & Recycling: Process batteries (new, old, used) for recycling purposes.
  • Pallet Building: Assemble pallets of batteries and shrink-wrap them for transport.
  • Shipping/Receiving: Support in shipping and receiving tasks; retail space duties include pulling batteries as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Use inventory control systems to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Equipment Operation: The use of carts for transporting batteries; scanner training provided.
  • Additional Duties: Contribute to general labor tasks as required.

Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in shipping/receiving and inventory management.
  • Skills: Competency in using scanners; Forklift (FKL) experience is a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to move and lift batteries ranging from 5-100lbs.
  • Attire: Casual, plain shirts and black or grey shorts/jeans; composite or steel-toed boots required.
  • PPE: Personal Protective Equipment provided by the company.
