Material Handler
Individual will be responsible for sub-division and preparation of shipment of GMP materials in GMP Sample Repository. Workflows will be executed in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures and conformance to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's). The employee will ensure all required documentation associated with material receipt, order processing and shipping are accurately prepared and maintained. Additionally, all relevant databases will be updated accordingly.
Requirements
- Provide functional support for all GMP Sample Repository activities such as: Receiving and processing (label, store subdivide, and ship) all GMP material for distribution to preclinical or clinical studies and commercial reference standards in accordance with the SOP's, cGMP's, and federal and regulatory guidelines.
- Order chemicals and supplies, executing on the receipt, subdivision and shipment of GMP materials, performing a wide variety of documentation management for Distribution & Logistics records.
- Interact with RY site shipping, transportation companies, brokers, etc. to facilitate/ensure shipments.
- Generate shipping documentation and hazardous goods packages according to DOT/IATA guidelines.
- Compile transportation details of shipments for confirmation and distribution and maintain open communication with recipients to convey shipment details, thus, ensuring smooth deliveries.
- Demonstrate high levels of customer support with Sample Repository and Reference Standard staff and in conducting all business activities with other sites and external parties.
- Role is based in Rahway NJ; Onsite 5 days per week
Qualifications
- Experience operating in a GMP environment, material handling, documentation, data generation and data reporting.
- Good computer skills, capable to quickly learn and implement area-specific software/database systems.
- Requires effective interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and oral) skills and exhibit a high level of attention to detail. Possess the skills to work independently and in team or group situations.
- Requires the aptitude and knowledge, and the ability to achieve productivity by managing time, priorities and personal effort.
- Desirable to have working knowledge and understanding of country specific shipping regulations.
Education requirements (e.g., BS in Chemistry or related science)
- BA/BS in a science related field is preferred but not required.
Experience
- Minimum 2 yrs relevant experience
- Operating in a GMP environment, material handling, documentation, data generation and data reporting.
