Position: Material Handler III
Location: Milpitas, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00AM - 4:30PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $27.65/HR

POSITION SUMMARY:
Material Handler maintains incoming and outgoing product movement throughout the facility along with document and data entry.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Responsible for data entry and record keeping of all production documents.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.
  • Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.
  • May perform other duties as required.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS-FORMAL EDUCATION
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE-
  • Required: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff. Must be able to read information through warehouse computer software.
  • Preferred: Relevant work experience in admin work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to lift and carry between 20 to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • 3-7 years experience
