This is a direct hire Materials Specialist position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Details:
• Day shift hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
• $50,000-60,000/yr.
• Melvindale, MI
Position Information:
• Coordinate material requirements with purchasing to ensure adequate raw materials and packaging
• Manage production planning and materials control
• Analyze and optimize operations to meet production, distribution and customer expectations
• Lead daily meetings to ensure alignment of production plans and schedules
• Maintain inventory records, twice-monthly inventory, and manage inventory levels within the distribution network
• Implement material planning for trials to support new product development
• Drive improvements in planning, forecasting and scheduling
• Coordinate logistics with internal teams and external partners
Required Experience:
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ability read, understand and analyze data within Excel, required
• Familiarity with AS400 or ERP systems, a plus
• Preferred experience with production scheduling and inventory control in a manufacturing environment
• Experience/knowledge with lean manufacturing, supply chain processes and MRP
• Familiarity with working in both an office & manufacturing environment
