Overview
This Bradenton-based client has been a top innovator in marine trailer manufacturing since 1974, specializing in all-welded, custom-built trailer frames. Their products serve recreational, commercial, government, and military applications, supporting a wide range of marine vessels with precision and durability.
They are looking for a skilled Drafter to create and manage detailed CAD drawings and build documentation to support the design and production of high-performance trailers and transporters.
Responsibilities:
- Generate 2D and 3D CAD models for custom boat trailer structures.
- Use KeyCreator to develop CAD drawings and models of parts and assemblies.
- Support engineers by developing manufacturing instructions and build plans.
- Create detailed designs and cut lists using 3D modeling tools.
- Provide CAD files and models to Purchasing for outsourced services.
- Occasionally assist in sourcing components, materials, and equipment.
- Support 3D scanning operations for customer boat hulls.
- Manage and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Design/Drafting or similar field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience required.
- Proficiency with KeyCreator; SolidWorks or equivalent experience is relevant.
- Familiarity with FARO Scene and Geomagic Wrap (laser scan processing) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and lookups (VBA/macros are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical data.
- Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term internal and external relationships.
- Willingness to relocate or commute to Bradenton, FL.
