Kelly Engineering has an outstanding direct hire Occupational Safety Specialist role with an innovative company experiencing dynamic growth in greater Atlanta area. This position offers a competitive salary plus bonus and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the occupational safety programs including fall protection, confined space entry, safe work permitting, electrical safety, energy isolation, contractor management, Job Safety Analysis.
- Ensures company compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
- Develop and implement health and safety procedures
- Drive continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
- Participate on the facility's site safety council, emergency response team and lead other committees as needed.
- Develop and provide health and safety training to facility employees and contractors
- Perform routine field observations to identify unsafe conditions, at-risk behaviors, and environmental issues.
- Review and authorize safe work permits as necessary
- Lead incident investigations, develop and track corrective actions
- Provide necessary support to maintain site RCMS certification.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences preferred- experience in lieu of a BS degree considered
- 3-5 years of Occupational Safety experience, preferably in a laboratory or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, relevant ANSI Standards, & NFPA standards
