Position Title: Temp Payroll/Human Resources Specialist
Hours: 8:30-5pm
Rate of Pay: $22/hr.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
The Human Resources Specialist supports the Human Resources team and the organization by owning payroll operations, configuring and maintaining HR systems, and ensuring smooth and efficient people processes. This role is responsible for data accuracy, workflow optimization, reporting, and delivering exceptional service to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle. Qualifications
Education
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in UKG Pro and UTM, HR Operations, HRIS, Payroll, or a similar HR support role is a MUST!
- Experience working with HRIS platforms required
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, labor laws, and data confidentiality
- Multi-state payroll experience preferred
- Serve as the primary processor for weekly employee payroll, including entering payroll data and employee changes in the HRIS.
- Support managers with employee timesheets and respond to employee payroll questions, researching and resolving payroll-related issues in a timely manner.
- Configure, maintain, and continuously improve the HRIS and related systems, including workflows, automations, permissions, integrations, forms, and dashboards.
- Ensure HR data integrity through regular audits, data cleanup, and standardized processes.
- Build and run HR, payroll, and compliance reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding workflow setup and system-related tasks.
- Support and streamline all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, benefits enrollments, and policy administration, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Complete new hire documentation, including I-9 processing and W-2 review.
- Maintain and update employee records and complete assigned audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with requisition creation, job postings, background checks, and applicant data accuracy.
- Create and maintain recruiting workflows, templates, and system automations, and provide backup support during high-volume hiring periods.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives and company events.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and handling correspondence.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide basic guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure HR communications remain accurate and up to date through systems such as the HRIS and company intranet.
- Maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and business writing skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and systems-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
