
Description
We've partnered with a large distribution company looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll for employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is temp to hire- paying between $65,000 and 75,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:-
Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employees, including salaried and hourly staff.

Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws in multiple states.

Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, tax withholding, direct deposit, and benefit deductions.

Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accuracy of payroll-related data.

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax documents, and deductions.

Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end reporting as required.

Stay current on changes in tax laws and state-specific payroll regulations.

Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.

Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits and garnishments.

Process off-cycle and correction payrolls as necessary.

3+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-state environment.

Solid understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and compliance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
