Job Title: Pilot Plant Technologist
Location: Friendswood, TX
Job Type: Full-Time - Long Term Contract
We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Pilot Plant Technologist to support daily operations in a pilot plant environment. This individual will be responsible for understanding and maintaining two extraction units, performing fluid sample collections, conducting fluid transfers between frac tanks and 300-gallon totes, and making equipment or process adjustments based on testing requirements. The role requires a strong laboratory background, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:-
Operate, monitor, and maintain two extraction units in the pilot plant.

Perform fluid sample collections in accordance with established procedures and protocols.

Adjust process parameters and unit operations per instructions from test requestors.

Transfer fluids between frac tanks and 300-gallon totes safely and efficiently.

Maintain accurate records of technical work and provide regular verbal and written updates to team members and supervisors.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with pilot-scale equipment.

Ensure all work complies with safety standards and operational procedures.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and operations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.

Bachelor's degree (4-year) in a science or technology-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.).

Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in a scientific, technical, or industrial setting.

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with equipment or machinery.

Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions with precision.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and team coordination.

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pilot plant or laboratory-scale equipment.

Highly technical and analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex data and procedures.

Strong team player with a collaborative approach and positive attitude.

Flexible and adaptable to shifting project needs and dynamic work environments.

Previous experience in a pilot plant or process development environment is a plus.

Work will be performed in a pilot plant and laboratory environment with exposure to industrial equipment, fluids, and occasional outdoor work.

May involve standing for long periods, lifting equipment or materials (up to 50 lbs), and working in varied temperature conditions.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
