Plastic Injection Molding Utility Operator Needed!

Rate of Pay: $17-$20/hr. DOE
Hours: 6am-4:30 M-Thursday
Job Type: Full-Time Summary/Objective:
The Plastic Injection Molding Utility Operator is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing and finishing tasks including grit blasting, plastic molding, and secondary finishing operations to meet customer specifications. Individuals with backgrounds in plastic injection molding or finishing are encouraged to apply. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate grit blasting machine to finish molded plastic parts as specified.
  • Perform plastic injection molding tasks and support additional plastics department operations as trained.
  • Conduct secondary operations using a range of tools and fixtures (e.g., flexarm, cordless and air-operated drills, Anilam machine).
  • Mix filler and hardener following detailed instructions.
  • Inspect molded parts, fill voids, and complete finishing using sandpaper, straight drills, and sanders.
  • Read job travelers/specs to verify part counts and accurately route parts to the next workstation.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established quality and production standards.
  • Support ISO quality management systems and utilize the Syteline MIS system effectively.
  • Accept ownership of tasks and contribute to team objectives by identifying and pursuing improvement opportunities.
  • Follow all safety regulations, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Apply job training consistently to achieve quality results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in surface finishing or a related manufacturing environment
Skills and Abilities:
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle small tools and parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret job travelers and production instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise directions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Able to reach, grasp, and manipulate small parts and tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as required.
