Kelly Services is seeking 2 punch press operators for a busy manufacturer located in Lake Mary, FL 32746

Shift Hours:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Salary Range: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour ( based on experience)

Job Summary:
The Punch Press Operator is responsible for ensuring complete customer satisfaction by maintaining high-quality standards in their work. The role focuses on minimizing variability to achieve zero defects in both products and services while improving cycle times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a computer-controlled press brake machine to produce formed parts for further manufacturing operations or as standalone products.

  • Read production paperwork to determine manufacturing requirements.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, and height gauges for part inspections.
  • Load the correct program into the control to produce accurate parts and quantities.
  • Measure parts to ensure conformity to print specifications.
  • Ensure that supplied materials meet production requirements.
  • Review parts for workmanship standards conformity.
  • Complete production paperwork, including In-Process and Final Audit Reports.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area according to facility housekeeping policies (6S Standards).
  • Wear required safety equipment and follow Safety Policy.
  • Correctly fill out tags to identify produced parts.
  • Describe and use control language necessary for setting up, operating, and adjusting offsets on the press brake.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving, including alarm editing.
  • Conduct basic setups for non-complex bends.
  • Read blueprints to determine characteristics required for monitoring.
  • Monitor the calibration of equipment used within the department.
  • Receive on-the-job training from the cell supervisor.
  • Understand the Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives, and assist the Cell Leader with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Place HOLD tags on suspect products.
  • Report Nonconforming Material (NCMR).
Qualifications: 
  • At least 1 year of machine operator, punch brake experience or metals manufacturing experience.
  • Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Basic Computer skills
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Safety Requirements:
  • Safety shoes and glasses must be worn at all times.
  • Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas and is optional in unmarked areas.
  • Gloves must be worn when handling parts.
  • Clothing should provide sufficient coverage to protect against scrapes and accidental contact with parts' edges.
