Job Title: Production Worker

General Description:
The Light Assembly Worker will perform essential duties on the production line as directed by the supervisor and/or lead production worker, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work with powder materials, and effective communication skills in English. Please note: Candidates will be asked about allergies to bee pollen.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions:

- Perform visual inspections of products and packaging for defects, including checking for product contamination, package integrity, package damage, artwork defects, proper sealing, date codes, and accurate product counts.
- Immediately report any defects to the supervisor or Lead Production Worker and remove defective products from the line.
- Package products by hand into cases as directed by SOPs or the supervisor.
- Operate packaging machinery, including turning production lines on and off, selecting appropriate programs on fillers, and adjusting target fill weights according to SOPs and machine manuals.
- Stack cases by lifting them from the production line (approximately waist height) and placing them on pallets at floor level to form proper pallet patterns.
- Place packaging materials (e.g., bottles, jars, totes) on the line manually and load caps into the hopper for capping.
- Clean the packaging area and equipment as directed, including sweeping, mopping, washing down the line, and wiping equipment.
- Work safely at all times, complying with safety, health, environmental, food and drug regulations, and company policies.
- Use company-approved personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for various tasks.
- Comply with company SOPs and policies.
- Assist material handlers and Lead Production Workers as needed or directed.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow formulas, procedures, and equipment instructions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Accurate and legible recordkeeping skills.
- Basic math skills for counting products.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds from floor level to shoulder height and vice versa.
- Stand for up to four (4) hours at a time and walk for up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Visual acuity for inspecting products and packaging.
- Ability to sit, bend, squat, reach, pull, twist, and turn.
- Manual dexterity for reaching, lifting, and placing products.
- Ability to use PPE and follow current good manufacturing practices, including restrictions on cosmetics, jewelry, nail polish, and maintaining short, clean nails while on the line.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 8 feet.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one year of work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
