Job Title: Production Operator I - Milling (Multiple Shifts)

About the Role:

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Production Operator I to join our growing team. This is a temp-to-hire position, offering excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement after a successful 90-day probationary period. In this role, you'll be responsible for the milling and grinding of ink, ensuring the highest quality and consistency in our production process. Available Shifts & Pay:

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

    • Starting pay: $20.00 per hour + potential for wage progression in the first year
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

    • Starting pay: $21.00 per hour (includes $1.00 shift differential) + potential for wage progression in the first year
  • 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

    • Starting pay: $21.50 per hour (includes $1.50 shift differential) + potential for wage progression in the first year

Overtime may be required based on production needs.

Training:

  • Initial training will be conducted on 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) for a minimum of 90 days.
  • We are willing to consider alternative training schedules (e.g., noon to 8:30 PM or noon to 10:30 PM, 4x10s for 2nd shift) to accommodate individual needs. Please inquire during the application process.

Responsibilities:

  • Milling Machine Operation:
    • Operate milling machines to grind and refine ink to specified gloss levels. A skilled operator can manage up to 3 machines.
    • Load premixed vats of ink into milling machines using a forklift.
    • Adjust roller pressure and number of passes to achieve desired ink finish.
    • Collect finished ink into containers (5-gallon buckets, 1-gallon buckets, quarts, etc.).
  • Quality Control:
    • Grind and mill ink to meet precise specifications.
    • Monitor ink levels and machine operation, making necessary adjustments.
    • Scoop out excess paint and measure for accuracy as needed.
  • General Production:
    • Move frequently between workstations, bending, lifting, and filling paint cans.
    • Lift full paint cans and use a scale to ensure accurate fill levels.
    • Place lids on cans and move them to pallets.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, cleaning up spills and messes promptly.
    • Work independently and manage your time effectively after training is complete.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of stable work history
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions carefully
  • Forklift experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with ink odors (not overwhelming).
  • Excellent air movement and ventilation.
  • Not air-conditioned; however, management provides ice cream, Gatorade, and water during hot weather.
  • Strict no-food/beverage policy in the work area to prevent contamination.
  • Uniforms provided.
