Pay Range: $65,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications) Can go as high as $85,000
Position Summary
Our customer is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee daily repair and maintenance operations of tank cars at their primary facility. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality work, safety compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple production lines. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of railcar repair standards, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities in accordance with safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of skilled technicians and welders, ensuring proper training and development.
- Monitor production schedules, workflows, and resource allocation to meet turnaround timelines.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with AAR, FRA, and company standards.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and safety teams to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Provide input on hiring, staffing levels, and employee performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure documentation is up to regulatory standards.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in tank car or railcar repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of AAR and FRA regulations governing tank car repair and qualification.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams in an industrial or heavy manufacturing setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational demands as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in welding or mechanical systems preferred.
