Job Title: Quality Associate – 3rd Shift (Production)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: 3rd Shift (Overnight)
Shift Differential: +15% for all hours worked on 3rd shift
Compensation: $21+/hour (plus shift differential) Position Summary:
The Quality Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing all Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental Monitoring (EM) activities at the Syracuse, NY production facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring compliance with internal procedures, regulatory standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Schedule Requirements:

  • Typical 3rd shift schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
  • Standard 3rd shift hours: 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • Working days may include:
    • Sunday – Wednesday
    • Sunday – Thursday (with mandatory overtime)
  • Must be available to work various days of the week, including a potential 5-day schedule as needed.
  • Training will occur on 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Monitoring (EM)
  • Collect environmental data in classified production areas
  • Analyze EM data and report results
  • Maintain inventory of approved EM materials
  • Prepare environmental monitoring reports as required
Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Inspect and release materials and components for production use
  • Stage and issue printed materials for production
  • Generate, issue, and review controlled documentation for batch records
  • Monitor equipment, charts, and gauges to ensure operation within specifications
  • Review equipment cleaning and area clearance documentation prior to production start-up
  • Maintain consistent communication with Quality Management and Production to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
Additional Essential Duties:
  • Assist with audits, investigations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
  • Support implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Assist in training Production personnel on GMP, aseptic techniques, and applicable SOPs
  • Prepare and review reports, investigations, batch records, SOPs, technical documents, risk assessments, and other compliance documentation
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on process improvement, compliance enhancement, and implementation of new systems, equipment, or procedures
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Environmental Monitoring (EM) and Quality Assurance (QA) in a regulated production environment (required)
  • Knowledge of GMP and aseptic manufacturing practices
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work flexible scheduling including overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience reviewing batch records and controlled documentation
  • Familiarity with audit preparation and regulatory inspections
