Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Location: Athens, GA
Position: Scientist I
Pay Rate: $24.50-$25/hr

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Lab Technician to support our laboratory team. The technician will be responsible for performing routine testing in compliance with laboratory procedures to support the manufacturing and timely delivery of products. This position requires experience with laboratory equipment and a focus on accuracy and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials and perform routine testing using laboratory instruments such as Instron, HPLC, GC, FTIR, and others related to monomer/polymer testing.
  • Identify and document any issues observed during analysis and testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results and initiate investigations for non-conforming materials and test results.
  • Perform calibration/verification checks on laboratory instruments.
  • Collect and prepare data for analysis and prepare study reports.
  • Support laboratory housekeeping, environmental, and safety initiatives.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment and adhere to all safety and environmental policies.
  • Use relevant software systems (e.g., SAP, LIMS) to document and manage testing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with quality system requirements and perform tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a GMP laboratory environment, with increasing responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO standards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and in a team.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Proficient in using various laboratory instruments and software tools.
  • Ability to perform detailed documentation and maintain accurate test records.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and shoes.
