Quality Assurance Technician - Food Industry
Denton, TX


Are you passionate about food quality and safety? Join our team as Quality Assurance Technician and play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards!

Summary:
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will perform standardized quality control checks on our products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You will monitor production processes, maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection: Conduct visual, organoleptic, and other tests on incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Sample Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples to ensure product consistency, safety, and quality.
  • Testing: Perform tests on samples for various attributes including Fat, Moisture, Protein, Ash, Fiber, pH, and Water Activity (aw), and enter data into lab/operations systems.
  • Data Evaluation: Evaluate test data against specifications and execute follow-ups as needed.
  • Sanitation Audits: Conduct equipment inspections and tests to validate cleaning effectiveness and engage with operations to address short-term issues.
  • Monitoring: Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Quality Control Points (QCPs) in line with plant SOPs and Food Safety Plan, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Verification & Validation: Perform activities as outlined in the Food Safety Plan
Experience and Education:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required:
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of quality and/or production experience. Experience as a quality control inspector in the food industry.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with SQF/BRC standards is a plus
