Job Summary

A leading electronics manufacturing company in Garland, TX is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I – Experienced AOI Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies, ensuring they meet industry and customer quality standards.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong background in PCB inspection and a detail-oriented mindset to contribute to a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate AOI equipment (e.g., CyberOptics, Koh Young, Mirtec) to inspect PCBs for defects such as soldering issues, misaligned or missing components.

  • Review AOI results and verify findings using magnification and visual inspection tools.

  • Interpret and apply inspection standards, including IPC-A-610 and customer-specific criteria.

  • Document inspection results accurately; report and log any non-conformities.

  • Perform light rework or touch-up on assemblies based on inspection findings.

  • Maintain AOI systems and ensure proper calibration and functionality.

  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address and resolve quality concerns.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inspection and production quality.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating AOI equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with PCB assembly processes and IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects.

  • Basic understanding of electronic components and assembly terminology.

  • Proficient in reading assembly documentation (BOMs, drawings, specs).

  • Effective communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC-A-610 certification (current or previous).

  • Experience with SMT and through-hole inspection.

  • Knowledge of ESD protocols and cleanroom procedures.
