Position Title: Quality Control Manager

Location: Lumberton, TX

Department: Corporate Quality Control

Reports To: Corporate Quality Control Manager

Job Overview: The Quality Control Manager will ensure that each work discipline in the construction process is correctly completed in accordance with quality standards. This role involves oversight and implementation of inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure production adheres to both company and industry quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports by collecting and analyzing inspection data.
  • Collaborate with the estimating department on quality needs for projects under review.
  • Attend bid/no bid reviews and project kick-off meetings.
  • Interview and hire Project QC staff.
  • Maintain the corporate welder's continuity log, stencil log, and testing records.
  • Write welder certifications and maintain Code Stamps and Certificate of Authorizations for the R, S, and U Stamps.
  • Handle record-keeping for Code Projects and participate in NBIC/ASME Joint Reviews.
  • Supervise staff while maintaining quality control processes, analyzing results, and providing feedback to the management team.
  • Ensure materials, products, and processes comply with specifications and best production practices.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Design and implement procedures for the use of Statistical Process Control across all departments as required.
  • Assist project teams with assembling documentation needed for turnover books for daily maintenance work orders, capital/expansion projects, and turnaround projects.
  • Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Document Control Manager Certification.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality control, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership and excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to foster and promote a positive work environment.
  • Working knowledge of AS 9100 requirements.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints to establish customer critical needs.
  • Working knowledge of various ASME Code books including ASME B31.3, B31.1, Section I, Section VIII Div 1, and NBIC Code for Repairs and Alterations.
  • Ability to manage and audit the activities of site QC Departments.
  • Strong analytical skills.
