Quality Inspector (B & C Shift)
Location: Rochester, NY
Shifts:

  • B Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
  • C Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday – Thursday)
Pay Range: $18–$21/hour(Based on experience)

Job Summary
We're seeking a reliable Quality Inspector to ensure product standards are met by conducting audits, measurements, and inspections at various stages of production. You'll partner closely with the Quality Manager and other departments to resolve issues, support smooth workflow, and help the team meet customer ship dates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and instrument-based inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to identify defects.
  • Complete inspection paperwork and interpret blueprints, including GD&T specifications.
  • Conduct in-process, first-piece, and first-article inspections using calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.
  • Alert Quality Manager whenever inspection results fall outside acceptable limits.
  • Verify calibration status of all inspection equipment within specified intervals.
  • Support special inspection projects, data analysis, and improvement initiatives when needed.
  • Occasionally perform first-article inspections on new or modified tooling.
  • Cover for other QA team members during absences and help with related tasks.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control or inspection.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, blueprints, and general shop math.
  • Experience with Sheffield or Zeiss CMM inspection equipment preferred.
  • Computer literate with strong organization and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions accurately.

Physical Demands
  • Regular use of hands/fingers and ability to sit, talk, or hear frequently.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in varying noise levels, from low to loud shop environments.
  • Requires good close and color vision to ensure accurate inspections.
