QC Lab Technician – Food Manufacturing
3rd Shift - 11pm-7am

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician with food company located NW of Tyler, TX area.
Overall, the QC Technician with have a strong background in quality control, food safety, and laboratory techniques. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, adhere to safety standards, and provide support to the team.

  • Responsible for conducting inspections of equipment, materials, and processes. Conduct routine HACCP (FSP) inspections.
  • Conduct plant inspections of both product and processes, as prescribed by Quality Manager.
  • Responsible for analytical testing of in-process and finished product testing according to prescribed procedures and logging of data in safe manner observing all EHS and laboratory safety guidelines detailed in the Chemical Hygiene plan, as well as all applicable good laboratory practices.
  • Perform calibration of laboratory and foreign material detection equipment, where applicable.
  • Complete analytical test method validation studies.
  • Performs and maintains legible records of preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment on prescribed basis.
  • Maintain QC document storage and backup system.
  • Provide back-up support for other Quality technicians on an as needed basis (including vacation/absence coverage).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Inspections: Conduct inspections of equipment, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Laboratory Operations: Perform calibration of laboratory equipment, complete analytical test method validation studies, and conduct analytical testing of in-process and finished products.
  • HACCP Inspections: Perform routine HACCP (FSP) inspections to identify and control potential food safety hazards.
  • Plant Inspections: Conduct plant inspections of both product and processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Incoming Materials: Test incoming materials and ingredients according to testing schedules.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to EHS and laboratory safety guidelines, maintain records of preventative maintenance for laboratory equipment, and maintain QC document storage.
  • Support: Provide back-up support for other Quality technicians and work flexible hours, including weekend operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Experience with HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range of $50-55k, with potential for higher compensation for qualified candidates.
  • Work Schedule:  11pm- 7am
  • Occasional overtime
  • Flexible hours and after-hours support may be required.
  • The company is located NW of Tyler, TX.
