Quality Tech - Food Manufacturing (1st and 2nd Shift)
Location: Mt. Juliet, Tennessee Are you a highly motivated and experienced Quality Technician with a passion for food safety and quality? We're looking for dedicated individuals to join our Quality and Production Teams in Mt. Juliet, TN. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our products meet the highest quality specifications, supporting our robust quality systems and standards. As a Quality Technician, you'll be on the front lines of quality assurance, working collaboratively with both production and quality teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and Analysis: Operate within work groups to continuously monitor processes and collect and analyze sample data, ensuring product conformance and process control.
- Specification Adherence: Monitor customer specifications to verify proper moisture, weight, color, and dimension of finished products.
- Preventative Control Oversight: Monitor preventative controls, promptly report non-conformances to management, and assist with corrective actions as needed.
- Sanitation Guidance: Guide production employees to ensure strict adherence to sanitation requirements during all production phases.
- Food Safety & Quality Holds: Initiate food safety and quality hold procedures, including clear communication and meticulous record-keeping.
- Auditing & Verification: Conduct regular plant food safety and security audits, report non-conformances, and act as an auditor and verifier of daily quality tasks throughout the processing area.
- GMP Compliance: Monitor production employees to ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and report any violations.
- Sensory Evaluation: Actively participate in sensory panels to evaluate product attributes.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Requirements:
- Must have prior experience in a food processing facility, specifically in a Quality Assurance role or a closely related quality function.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or High School Diploma/equivalent experience.
- Flexible to work various shifts (8 hour or 12 hour shift)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of basic mathematical calculations, number/symbol reading, and accurate record-keeping.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey instructions clearly in English.
- Patience and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.

- Willingness and ability to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, GMPs, SOPs, and employee handbook guidelines.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, some holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for 95-100% of a shift, sometimes up to 12 hours.
- Comfortable with repetitive movements, bending, twisting, and using hands to handle objects.
- Exposure to sustained noise levels and working in varying temperatures (which can be very hot).
- Comfortable with potential exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders, and powered industrial vehicles.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
- Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains, and other allergens.
