Now Hiring: Receiving Clerk / Material Handler (1st Shift)
Location: Newington, CT
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour About the Role
We are seeking a Receiving Clerk / Material Handler to support daily logistics operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and timely support of production processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a campus truck to transport materials between multiple buildings and a local rigging location
  • Support receiving operations: unload trucks/containers and process goods receipts in SAP
  • Pull and deliver parts to production using pallet jacks, forklifts, and transport carts
  • Maintain and update inventory records via SAP and barcode scanners
  • Ensure workplace organization and cleanliness in line with 5S standards
  • Assist in stocking parts, unpacking shipments, and organizing storage areas
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve logistics and shipping issues
  • Perform regular lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing/bending throughout the shift
  • Work independently and identify/resolve operational issues proactively
Qualifications
  • Required: Valid Connecticut Driver's License
  • Preferred: Experience driving trucks up to 20,000 lbs
  • Previous computerized shipping/receiving experience (SAP experience a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and work on concrete floors for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Work Environment
  • Role involves standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the shift
  • Indoor and outdoor work environment with frequent material handling
  • Safety equipment and training provided
This is a full-time, first-shift opportunity for a reliable and detail-oriented candidate with strong logistics and material handling experience.
