Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager in University Park, IL. Candidate must have:

  • 5 years progressive management experience – preferably within supply chain and operations
  • Food and consumer packaged goods industry experience
  • Experience working with food distribution and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with P&L Management and budgeting, and plant operations

Salary: $90k – 120k
Mon-Fri daytime hours

Job duties
This position will be responsible for all blending and packaging activities for the company.
  • Ensure daily orders are produced for shipping on time
  • Develop and execute cost savings targets and improvements
  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program and provide clear direction on the schedule
  • Develop and implement KPI's for liquid and dry production and incremental packaging teams
  • Tracking costs vs. budget and explaining variances (budgets for cost center 100)
  • Coach, train, develop and motivate team and discipline as required
  • Employee Reviews
  • Set clearly defined and obtainable objectives for team
  • Keep team informed and ensure effective intra and interdepartmental communications
  • Development and measurement of Departmental and Employee performance
  • Prepare annual budget for dry/liquid production
  • Staffing
  • Continuous improvement
  • Other duties as required
  • Support the Commercial team in determining manufacturing capabilities to support customer requirements
  • Also responsible for maintenance for the plant
  • Provide the necessary resources to implement, support, and enforce the health and safety policies and programs within the company by working in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, safe work practices and procedures established by company. Please note that Health and Safety will continue to report to the Head of Operations & Supply Chain.
  • Responsible for Food safety and Quality of manufactured and distributed products.  Responsible for providing tools, resources and training for the Operations team to maintain Food Safety and Quality standards based on Prerequisite programs, HACCP plans, CCP monitoring and SQF code.  Managers are responsible for internal auditing, implementing and maintaining corrective/preventative action plans and Annual Management review.
  • At least once each year, participate in a safety committee inspection
  • Ensure a safe work environment for the employees

Experience/Education needed
  • 5 years progressive management experience – preferably within supply chain and operations
  • Food and consumer packaged goods industry experience
  • Experience working with food distribution and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with P&L Management, plant operations
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Industrial Engineering or supply chain related) or equivalent in work experience
