I'm currently looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer for my client in Lisle, IL, or Rochester Hills, MI.
They're seeking an experienced engineer to develop and implement reliability validation strategies for cutting-edge automotive sensor technology. If you have a background in reliability analysis, validation testing, and product lifecycle risk assessment, this could be a fantastic opportunity!

- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear reliability requirements during the product design phase.
- Interface with both internal teams and customers to align on reliability expectations and ensure targets are met.
- Host regular cross-functional team meetings with Design, Test, and Simulation engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve reliability issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and communicate precise execution strategies and test instructions to the test labs for flawless validation.
- Create reliability test plans for Automotive Sensors based on product design validation requirements. Leverage methods like binomial distribution for sample size estimation and stress life curves to correlate with field life.
- Ownership of DVP&R across all design phases by overseeing testing and validation timelines and coordination across labs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project reliability & validation milestones are met. Track progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Incorporate reliability methods (such as accelerated life, degradation, and run-to-failure testing) into test plans to ensure products meet or exceed customer reliability and durability requirements.
- Perform reliability analysis and risk assessments to identify potential failure modes and recommend remedial strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reliability models for overall sensor systems (including Arrhenius, Weibull and exponential distribution) to predict product reliability and estimate lifetime across different platforms or technologies.
- Specifics include PCB, Passive and Active Components, Mechanical Components
- Analyze test results, identify trends, and report findings to relevant stakeholders. Produce comprehensive reliability reports, including failure analysis reports and failure rate predictions (i.e. FIT, MTTF).
- Min. bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering,
- Min. 3 years relevant experience in reliability analysis, reliability prediction methods and accelerated life testing.
- Knowledge in Automotive Electronics Design and Validation (ex. ECU, Radar, Camera, LiDAR)
- Strong knowledge in Solder Joint and Printed Circuit reliability and testing requirements.
Knowledge of test and reliability Specifications & Standards like AEC, ISO, IEC, JIS, MIL.
- knowledge of reliability engineering principles, tools and techniques, including FMEA, FTA, HALT and reliability modelling.
- knowledge of reliability and data analysis tools such as Weibull++, Reliasoft & nCode, JMP or equivalent.
- A high degree of self-motivation, team player and strong problem-solving skills.
- Convincing communication skills/style towards customers and suppliers in English.
