Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Scientist II for our CASE R&D and Manufacturing client based in the greater Chester County, PA area. Length of assignment: Direct Hire
Location: Carlisle, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift
Compensation: $82,000-$106,000/yr
Summary: Looking for a bright, hard-working scientist to join our dynamic research and development team. This role is responsible for participating in the execution of laboratory work across a variety of product lines including coatings, adhesives, sealant, and water/weather proofing systems. The scientist is to assist with manufacturing of new and existing products, and to solve factory and field problems. The scientist plans their work, under the guidance of senior scientists, to meet objectives established by R&D Director.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safe and detailed laboratory testing according to standard operation practices and assist in the development and optimization of new products.
- Complete tasks in formulation, product testing, and process improvement.
- Assist with the development of new lab methods and standard procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment; operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
- Develop sustainable solutions within the R&D, operations, and technical teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills:
- The individual will have 1-2 years laboratory work experience formulating and testing coatings, adhesives or sealants.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, with the ability to evaluate new, unconventional ideas and apply them for improvement of the product performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and laboratory tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge in laboratory safety.
- Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer chemistry, Material Science, or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of laboratory work experience in formulating and testing coatings, adhesives or sealants
Working Conditions:
- Laboratory and office environment daily.
- Occasional visits to manufacturing facilities.
