Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking talented and innovative PhD-Level Protein Design Scientists for future opportunities in the Greater Seattle area. The PhD Level Scientist will play a critical role in advancing our research efforts by applying computational and experimental techniques to the design and characterization of proteins. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating computational protein design with wet lab experimentation to create innovative solutions in biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize cutting-edge computational tools to design proteins with desired properties and functions.
- Conduct wet lab experiments to validate computational hypotheses, including protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement experiments for novel protein development.
- Analyze data using statistical and bioinformatics methods to inform iterative cycles of protein design and testing.
- Disseminate findings through detailed reports, scientific publications, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in protein engineering and computational biology to continuously enhance methodologies.
- PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a focus on protein design.
- Demonstrated expertise in computational protein modeling and design, including experience with software such as Rosetta, PyMOL, or similar tools.
- Strong proficiency in experimental techniques for protein characterization (e.g., X-ray crystallography, NMR, cryo-EM, mass spectrometry).
- Experience in expression systems such as E. coli, yeast, or mammalian cells.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset with experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
