Description

The Senior Cloud Services Compliance Officer will lead and oversee compliance initiatives for Cloud Services at the domain level. This role focuses on managing complex audit processes, customer security and compliance assessments, regulatory compliance, and internal security and privacy programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Compliance Programs

  • Act as the primary point of contact for compliance and audit activities related to assigned Cloud Services.
  • Lead interactions with internal and external auditors, ensuring efficient audit processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs aligned with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
Audit Strategy and Execution
  • Prepare and execute internal and external audits for assigned Cloud Services.
  • Develop proactive, risk-based audit strategies aligned with business priorities.
Advanced Compliance and Risk Management
  • Enhance risk management and controls for Cloud Services.
  • Support compliance for Change Management, Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and Disaster Recovery (DR).
  • Maintain governance and compliance documentation (ISMS 27001, ISO 27017/18).
Policy Development and Process Improvement
  • Develop and refine cybersecurity compliance policies and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of compliance workflows and audit readiness.
Global Compliance Management
  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Support global compliance strategies and cross-border data transfer compliance.
Support and Advisory
  • Provide compliance guidance to sales, presales, product management, and other business units.
  • Advise on complex compliance and security topics, including RFPs and client inquiries.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage with customers to address compliance and security questions.
  • Communicate compliance requirements and audit results to stakeholders.
Continuous Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor compliance programs for effectiveness.
  • Provide regular compliance reports to senior management.

Minimum Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance and certifications, preferably in cloud services.
  • Proven experience leading internal and external audits, risk assessments, and remediation.
  • Strong knowledge of standards: ISO 27001, ISO 27017/18, SOC2, FedRAMP, CSA, PCI-DSS, GDPR.
  • Solid understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud security fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, risk management, or information security.
  • Certifications: CISA, CISM, CRISC, or similar.
  • Expertise in ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR, NIST frameworks.
  • Experience in cloud computing or SaaS environments.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
Additional Details
  • Location: Hybrid (Ottawa) or remote within Canada.
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week; core hours 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST.
  • Part of an international team of 10; primary responsibility for Canadian audits with global collaboration.
