Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Senior Research Associate for a premier manufacturing and technology company focused on broadening access to complex medicines and protecting biopharmaceutical supply chains. Shift: M-F, standard working hours
Pay: 30-40/hr, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Working with scientists and engineers to perform molecular biology and NGS experiments (RT-qPCR, nucleic acid purification, quantification and NGS library preparation).
- Strong understanding of technologies in the field of sequencing technologies, e.g., bulk and single cell sequencing (RNA-seq, DNA-seq).
- Conduct studies to test and optimize key characteristics of novel NGS assays, such as comparability and repeatability testing.
- Prepare presentations highlighting experimental design and results, as well as relevant scientific topics.
- Maintain clear documentation of experimental setup, reagents used, and data generated using best practices and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
- Deliver project goals by participating in Agile activities, including scrum team meetings, feedback sessions, ideation and story mapping.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a biology-related field (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, synthetic biology, immunology, bioengineering).
- 2+ years of wet lab experience, including operating scientific instrumentation such as thermocyclers, gel electrophoresis systems, and Illumina instruments.
- Experience in bacterial and mammalian cell culture systems and trained in aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with automation of molecular assays and/or NGS assays.
- Demonstrated ability to be highly productive in a fluid, fast-paced, and teamwork environment.
