Shipping and Receiving Coordinator – Urbana-Champaign (Industrial/Manufacturing)
Location: Urbana-Champaign, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–4:30PM
Pay: $19–$21/hr, paid weekly
Type: Contract-to-Hire (3–6 month contract with opportunity for permanent placement)
Start Date: December

Job Overview:
From your Urbana-Champaign Kelly Services manager: We're seeking an expert Shipping and Receiving Coordinator who brings precision, energy, and dedication. This role is key for smooth operations in our industrial warehouse setting, moving parts, products, and shipments throughout our manufacturing process. If you're organized, hands-on, and ready for a challenge, you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, prepare, and ship products following detailed company instructions
- Build and maintain sturdy packing crates (hand tools experience required)
- Find top-quality shipping providers and secure competitive rates
- Kit and pick components to support manufacturing
- Coordinate in/out shipping for outside services and trade shows
- Route returned components quickly and accurately
- Document all shipping/receiving transactions for full traceability
- Keep the shipping area spotless and efficient
- Attend daily meetings with management on scheduling and priorities
- Manage RMA processing and other duties as assigned (be ready to explain previous experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year in shipping/receiving (industrial/manufacturing environment)
- Impeccable attention to detail and organization (be able to explain)
- Solid hand tool skills for crate building
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to negotiate shipping rates and get the best deals
- Ready to work as part of a focused, reliable team
- Consistent daytime schedule and weekends free
- Direct path to permanent hire with excellent attendance (first 30 days perfect attendance is a must)
- Learn and work alongside management, your effort gets noticed
- Active, hands-on days, never bored

- Must be fast and adaptable on busy days—no standing around
