What's a typical day as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk? You will:
• Coordinate Seed Movement: Assist the coordination and enable timely seed movement from Woodland to various global destinations, ensuring alignment with shipping priorities.
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and documentation to ensure all shipments comply and prevent delays.
• Streamline Shipping Processes: Implement strategies to enhance shipping efficiency, reduce last-minute requests, and develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of operations.
• Establish Relationships: Build relationships with logistics providers and county officials to ensure favorable shipping terms.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure proper documentation of shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels, and archive records for compliance and audit purposes.
• Assess and Mitigate Risks: Identify potential shipping risks and develop plans to address issues that may impact delivery timelines or compliance.
Must Haves:
• Experience: Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain roles, preferably within an agricultural or R&D setting.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international shipping regulations, compliance requirements, and customs procedures.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address challenges and devise contingency plans for potential shipping delays.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of shipping documentation and compliance.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, inventory, and compliance.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and evolving shipping needs in a dynamic environment.
