About Us:
Pediatric Therapeutic Services is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our high school team, helping students with diverse learning needs achieve their full potential.

Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, support, and case management for students with disabilities (grades 9-12), collaborating with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure educational and behavioral success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' needs in various academic subjects
• Adapt curriculum and classroom environment to meet diverse learners' needs
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and modify instruction
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, and families
• Organize and lead IEP meetings
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom culture
• Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education 
• Experience working with high school students with disabilities (student teaching, internships, or volunteer experience may be considered) preferred 
• Thorough knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and best practices in special education
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in technology for educational and administrative purposes
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, administrators, and families
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
• Ability to remain flexible and patient in a fast-paced school environment
• Up-to-date background clearances as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (FBI, Child Abuse, and Criminal History)
