Job Title: High School Special Education Teacher (Full-Time)
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19124

Pediatric Therapeutic Services is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our high school team, helping students with diverse learning needs achieve their full potential.
Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, support, and case management for students with disabilities (grades 9-12), collaborating with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure educational and behavioral success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' needs in various academic subjects
- Adapt curriculum and classroom environment to meet diverse learners' needs
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and modify instruction
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, and families
- Organize and lead IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom culture
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students with disabilities (student teaching, internships, or volunteer experience may be considered) preferred
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and best practices in special education
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in technology for educational and administrative purposes
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, administrators, and families
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
- Ability to remain flexible and patient in a fast-paced school environment
- Up-to-date background clearances as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (FBI, Child Abuse, and Criminal History)
