Position Overview:
A Senior Accounting clerk plays a key role in the ability to meet its program goals and, ultimately, achieve its mission. The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information through diligent execution of accounting processes. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Properly record all vendor invoices into the General Ledger.
- Post company credit card usage to appropriate accounts.
- Compile online billings, posting them accurately and promptly to the General Ledger.
- Analyze all vendor accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure payment accuracy.
- Perform statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively across departments to perform accounting audits.
- Research, approve, and create new vendor accounts; collect and verify AP documentation (W-9, ACH, etc.).
- Post journal entries as needed.
- Assist in creating company profiles for vendors and customers, ensuring adherence to documentation policies.
- Monitor accounting email inboxes and communicate issues within the accounting team.
- Gather and resolve receipt/purchase order mismatches in cooperation with relevant departments.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support other roles as needed, including coverage during absences.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or at least three years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and statement reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to anticipate needs, adapt to change, and apply continuous improvement.
- Sound judgment and ownership of responsibilities.
