Pay Rate: $27–$33 per hour, DOE
Location: Anchorage, AK
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
About the Opportunity
Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support a valued client in Anchorage. This crucial position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, general ledger entries, and supporting documentation.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis of financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, monitor aging reports, and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of schedules and reports for auditors.
- Maintain and update shareholder records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper accounting and reporting for company transactions.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant local/state/federal regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; familiarity with other accounting or database management tools is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic office setting.
