Position Summary:
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a skilled Marketing and Product Innovation Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our marketing programs and product innovation initiatives. This position is integral to achieving our growth objectives by executing tactical marketing and product development activities that harmonize with long-term strategic goals. Reporting to the VP of Strategic Development, this role is a key player in our commercial team, helping to set clear objectives, analyze market trends, and align resources effectively in a competitive landscape. A proven professional background blended with a genuine passion for beauty, personal care, and therapeutics is essential to drive innovative initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing & Promotional Activities:
- Plan and implement diverse promotional activities across print, social media, websites, trade shows, CRM email campaigns, and signage.
- Collaborate with the VP of Strategic Development, agencies, consultants, and internal teams to craft cohesive, omni-channel marketing messages.
- Assist in the creation, production, and dissemination of promotional and collateral materials that bolster sales and overall marketing efforts.
- Manage the prospect and client database, nurturing leads and enhancing client relationships through ongoing communication.
- Utilize design skills to produce visual content for both internal and external purposes, maintaining brand consistency.
- Develop sell sheets, presentations, and internal documents to reinforce our brand aesthetic and support sales.
- Collaborate with Sales and Client Services to integrate new products into the overall portfolio, considering product mix, lifecycles, and customer demographics.
- Support market research by collecting data on trends and innovations, and help generate product concept ideas that align with our commitment to skin care, sun care, and therapeutic innovation.
- Design and implement annual customer surveys to capture market requirements and innovative needs in partnership with Strategic Development, Sales, and Client Services.
- Analyze market research findings to contribute to product strategy, positioning, pricing, and cost of goods recommendations.
- Conduct ingredient research, including active component evaluations, to create new product profiles with input from various departments.
- Attend cross-functional product planning meetings to scope and schedule product launch concepts within a 12-18+ month development timeline.
- Manage focus groups and internal testing of product samples, and develop support materials for internal teams and customers.
- Execute tasks assigned by senior leadership to propel the company's growth and market positioning.
- Align tactical marketing and product development activities with the Strategic Development department's overarching goals.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and product launches, applying data analytics to optimize strategies and align with long-term objectives.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to gather market intelligence, providing regular updates on innovation, product performance, and new business opportunities.
- Propose innovative ideas for marketing strategies, PR initiatives, events, and digital challenges that solidify the company's competitive edge.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a record of creating compelling content and technical documents.
- In-depth understanding of B2B and B2C marketing principles, with proven B2B marketing and partnership expertise; experience in skin care, healthcare, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, industry certification, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Genuine passion for beauty, personal care, and therapeutics.
- Proficient in marketing technologies and digital tools, including HubSpot CRM, Canva, Adobe Suite (InDesign), and familiar with website management and digital advertising platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other critical digital collaboration tools.
- Strong project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Strong design skills to aid in developing impactful visual communications for various audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to interpret complex information clearly.
