Structural Designer – Contract

Overview
Our client is a global manufacturer of product for variety of industries. Their Factory Engineering team designs & builds industrial facilities for their use. As a Structural Designer on this team, you will focus on 3D modeling, drafting, and coordination with structural engineers and other disciplines. This is an hourly role with overtime available and is fully onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and construction of various new projects and renovations of existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our client's high-tech locations across the U.S.
- Develop structural modeling and design deliverables using Revit.
- Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules.
- Utilize Revizto and 3D laser-scanned point clouds for routing and clash detection.
- Coordinate structural modeling with multidisciplinary project teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Piping/Plumbing, and assist with utility routing.
- Integrate design input and markups from structural engineering leads.
- Perform initial Revit model setup.
- Collaborate with the BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results and incorporate new designs into existing facility models.
- Utilize and improve structural design standards.
- Assist with BIM custom content creation and tool development.
- Ensure the production of high-quality models.
- Develop and enhance design skills and engineering understanding.
- Assist in presenting 30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews to stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Associates in CAD or BS in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering
- Prefer 8+ years structural design experience with building, infrastructure, or industrial facilities that includes structural steel & concrete
- Proficient with Revit, required (prefer 5+ years' experience)
- Working knowledge of clash avoidance, utilizing clash avoidance tools such as Revizto (preferred) & 3D laser-scanned point data
- Interpersonal skills to work with all levels of engineering and construction staff.
- Effective communications skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
