Are you a hands-on technical leader with a passion for cutting-edge product development and a deep understanding of formulation science? We're looking for a Technical Manager to join our team in Garland, TX, where your expertise will drive innovation from concept to scale-up.


Title: Technical Manager
Location: Garland, TX (onsite)
Salary: $130-140,000 + Benefits
1st Shift | Mon-Fri


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide deep technical knowledge and guidance on ingredient functionality, product formulation, and process optimization.
  • Transfer the formula from bench to production quantities. Scale up
  • Work with variations of capabilities and interdependencies within formulations and capabilities of different types of mixing and energy sources and their impact on reactions between chemicals (heat, cooling, orders of editions, timing, mixer capabilities and weaknesses, speeds etc.)
  • Lead and mentor R&D staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. 
  • Partner with other R&D team members and cross functional business leaders to build strong strategic plans for new territories exploration and innovation.
  • Manage, balance, and prioritize multiple project initiatives to meet business objectives.
  • Work with internal and external partners to bring outside perspectives to enhance our innovation capabilities.
  • Engage in a positive workplace environment that foster continuous improvement and relentless problem solving.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemistry engineering, with 10 years of experience in cosmetics/personal care formulation and Research Innovation and Development.
  • Knowledge and experience in personal care formulation development, scale-up and manufacturing environment implementation is required.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices safety guidelines, as well as scale-up and manufacturing processes
  • High proficiency in computer skills is needed including Microsoft Office, Google Suite and the ERP system, as well as being comfortable learning our in-house programs Proactive problem-solving and independent initiative to meet business needs.
  • Expert in analyzing complex scientific problems, interpreting technical data, and developing innovative solutions for non-standard situations.
  • Broad knowledge of personal care product formulation, from concept to finished product (cosmetics and OTC included)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailoring scientific information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, proposals, and procedures.
  • Strong foundation in mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Customer support and interaction on a regular basis and problem solving.
