What's a typical day as a Technical Writer? You'll be:

  • Developing and updating product documentation, including specifications, validation plans, risk assessments, user guides, and assembly procedures

  • Revising and migrating legacy documents into GE's company-wide PLM system

  • Supporting Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

  • Collaborating with engineers, manufacturing, quality, and other teams to gather technical information

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards in all documentation

  • Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors for translation needs

  • Reviewing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and user-friendliness

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • 2+ years of experience with a degree, or 3–4 years without a degree, in technical writing or documentation development

  • Experience working in regulated industries (medical device or healthcare preferred)

  • Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts

  • Strong organizational and task-tracking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat (PLM/document control systems experience a plus)

  • Ability to work onsite in State College, PA
