Job Title: IT Project Manager II (Telecom Project Manager)
Pay rate: $65.66 per hour
Duration: 12 months
W2 contract only (No C2C)
Location- Berkeley Heights, NJ, 07922
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Telecom Project Manager. This role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of complex telecommunications projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of telecom technologies, a proven track record of successful project management, and excellent communication and leadership skills. This candidate will also assist with other smaller IT Infrastructure projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, budgets, and risk assessment. Manage all project phases from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to established methodologies and best practices.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including but not limited to: fiber optics, wireless networks (4G/5G), IP networking, VoIP, and network infrastructure. Be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring deliverables are met according to contractual agreements. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure project success. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, risk assessments, and budget forecasts. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management.
- Problem Solving and Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks. Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring projects stay within allocated funding.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in telecom project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex telecom projects.
- Strong understanding of telecom technologies and industry trends.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus.
- Experience with project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
